PURPOSE:To recognize a stereoscopic image with synthesis by splitting a liquid crystal layer on a display pattern so as to form alternate groups, using one display for the right eye and the other for the left eye. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate 5 formed by overlapping an oriented film 3 and a transparent electrode 4 on and below a twisted nematic liquid crystal layer 1 is provided and a deflection plate 6 is placed at the outside. An electrode 4A forms a row electrode and has an oriented film 3A rubbed in the same direction on the electrode and the electrode 4B forms a column electrode orthogonal to the electrode 4A, the oriented film 3B is split into wide strips 31, 32 along the electrode 4B and rubbed in two directions alternately. The row and column electrodes are driven by a control circuit including a ROM and a computer including the control program, then liquid crystal layers 1a, 1b are confirmed visually by right/left eyes Er, El of the observer at the front face of the display section and the observer can recognize a stereoscopic image with synthesis. |
