An apparatus for loading a tanker truck with free-flowing bulk goods has an attachment cone 24 at the bottom end for dust-tight attachment of the device to the circular filling aperture 26 of the tanker truck, a closure 42 for closing the bottom end of the fall shaft 56 and a device with at least a first pulling element 30, 32 for fixing the closure at different distances from the bottom edge of the fall shaft 56. The apparatus has a high loading capacity and great wear resistance in that at last the bottom funnel 16.5, in its cross-sectional plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction 28 of the fall shaft 56, is approximately rectangular, that at least one of the sides of the funnel in each of its cross- sectional planes is smaller than the minimum inside diameter of the attachment cone 24 of circular cross- section, and that the first pulling element 30, 32 is fitted along a straight line in the ventilation duct 60, and that the said first pulling element is fixed to the closure 42 in such a way that it can be fed in the space which, looking at the ground plan, is formed between the attachment cone 24 and the bottom funnel 16.5. <IMAGE>
