Automatic egg box packaging method - includes use of vertical movable load platform

During packaging, egg boxes move in a horizontal plane, whilst the load platform and load move in a vertical direction. An unfolded blank (1) with top flaps (2), transverse bottom flaps (3) and longitudinal bottom flaps (4,5) is positioned above the load platform (6). The bottom flap (5) does not fold over; but instead the box is loaded with three closed bottom flaps. The load is supported by three of the four bottom flaps. A vertical moving platform supports the boxes while the bottom flaps are closed.
