PURPOSE:To stabilize continuous casting by arranging first and second sending mechanisms shifting side dams to casting direction and roll axial direction and forming slidingly contacting surfaces with the side dams of rolls to rough surfaces. CONSTITUTION:To the inner part cooling rolls 1a, 1b, the side dams 3a, 3b as controllable to shift to the casting direction and the roll axial direction are arranged. Then, the side dam is controlled to shift to the casting direction through columns 3 with screw and nuts 9. Further, the side dam is controlled to shift to roll axial direction with the second sending mechanism composing of sending rods 6a, 6b. Further, the slidingly contacting part 10 and the surface S of the roll 1a, 1b with the side dam are formed with the rough surface having grindability. As the first and second side dam sending mechanisms are arranged, molten metal leakage at the side dam part is stably prevented and the damage is reduced. Therefore, the operation of the continuous casting is stabilized. |
