Trays filled with eggs are automatically packed in crates or boxes, using a topple chair (1) consisting of base plate (3), contact plate (2) and two rows of grippers (4) positioned above each other. The driven gripper unit moves trays into a stacking pattern by turning one tray over; for positioning on top of the bottom tray. Trays may be stacked in crates, boxes or mobile containers.
