<p>A lump of dough is shaped for baking into a bread roll, it being passed through the gap between a driven endless conveyor belt and an opposite surface, to emerge as a sheet which is then rolled up. Opposite the conveyor belt is a plate, sloping towards it in the direction of the outlet. The gap formed by the latter is followed by a pair of driven rollers above a drum driven in the opposite direction to one of the rollers. Thus the sheet of dough is pulled between the latter and the drum, bringing it into contact with the rolling tools, which extend partway round the drum.</p> |
