PURPOSE:To accelerate an image forming speed by moving a plurality of recording heads to individual image unformed regions assigned corresponding to the heads, and scanning them over the uniformized regions. CONSTITUTION:Two recording heads 5A, 5B are so provided at a distance so to split the recording range of a recording sheet 1near a drum 2, to be synchronously movable in parallel with the rotating axial direction of the drum 2 by a guide rail 6 for guiding the movement of the heads and a ball screw 8 driven by a head moving pulse motor 7. The feeding distance of the head 5 is determined on the basis of information output from an encoder 4. For example, when the fact that the drum 2 is rotated one revolution is detected by the encoder 4, the motor 7 is rotated for one pulse to synchronously move the heads 5A, 5B at a predetermined distance. |
