发明名称 PERMANENT MAGNET ALLOY WITH IMPROVED CRUSHABILITY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a permanent magnet with improved crushability, consequently with improved magnetic characteristics, by adding one kind or more out of S, As, Hg, Tc, Sc and Cs by 0.8atom percent or less. CONSTITUTION:One kind or more out of S, As, Hg, Tc, Sc and Cs are added by 0.8atom percent or less to a permanent magnet consisting of a rare-earth element R, boron B, and Fe. Nd of 99.8% or more for Nd, electrolytic iron with purity 99.9% for Fe, and a ferroboron alloy for B as raw materials are mingled, and a small amount of adding elements are added thereto. Then, they are high-frequency-melted and casted in a water-cooled copper mold to get an ingot. The improvement of the crushability by the addition of a small amount of elements S, As, Hg, Tc, Sc and Cs by 0.8atom percent or less is effective not only for the crushing of the casted ingot but also for the crushing of thin belts or thin segments obtained by super rapid cooling. Besides, applying hydrogen crushing makes it possible to improve the crushability further through the synergistic effect with the addition of the elements.
