The free-standing insertion chute 103 is of the type which is connected by way of an intermediate chamber to an underground suction conveyor line 106, which is connected to a waste suction system, in which the upper end of each chute above ground is provided with a closeable insertion opening, and the bottom end of each chute underground is connected to the suction conveyor line. The insertion chute 103 comprises an upper chute section 103a, which at its bottom end is provided with a connecting flange 108a, and a lower chute section 103b, which at its upper end is provided with a connecting flange 108e, and which is received in a branch 109, which emerges from the suction conveyor line 106, and which is likewise designed with a connecting flange 108g at its upper end. The connecting flange 108e of the lower chute section is detachably clamped between the flange 108a of the upper chute section and the connecting flange 108g of the branch. The branch 109 has a length in relation to the underground depth of the suction conveyor line 106 such that the flange assembly 108 formed by the connecting flanges 108a, 108e and 108g lies above the ground surface. <IMAGE>
