Steam tapping slots in turbine stator - make use of distance piece to neutralise axial expansion

The arrangement is for circular steam tapping slots in the stator housing of a steam turbine. At least one distance piece (8) is integrated in the axial width of the slot (3) in the circumferential direction. The distance piece is a surface-coated bush corresponding to the width of the slot and is anchored to the housing parts (1 and 1a) by means of a bolt (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - The distance piece is so arranged in the region of the steam tapping slot that its sliding action against the housing face neutralises the axial expansion of the two parts of the housing.
