A railway truck has a discharge opening at the bottom of the truck with closure flaps 2 that are pivotable laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the truck and an arrangement for removing residual material from the closure flaps. The arrangement comprises, for each closure flap 2, a scraper-type cleaner consisting of a plate 8, with a front piece 9, pivotable up and down towards the discharge opening, the lower edge 10 of the front piece being pressed by a spring 12 against the inner floor 11 of the closure flap. The scraper follows the closure flap as it moves and thereby removes residual material from the flap. <IMAGE>
