A ski binding has a base plate which is attachable to the ski and on which a slide, which supports the sole holder(s), is mounted displaceably in the longitudinal direction of the ski, a fixed bearing and a sliding bearing being provided for attaching the base plate and the sliding bearing being designed as an essentially U-shaped clamp which overlaps the base plate from the sides. In order to provide the possibility of allowing sliding of the base plate in the clamp while avoiding a vertical play between these two parts, without the risk of locking the base plate, the clamp (5) is mounted limitedly pivotably about a horizontal transverse axis on the ski (4). ��
