The cooling system has its compressor realised as an electromotor with multiplexed polarity. The first polarity configuration includes two windings, that is, a start winding and a main winding. The second polarity configuration is the main winding alone. The motor runs on a two-pole winding at max. power and on the single-pole winding at reduced power. Alternatively, a main winding is provided for a high speed two pole type of configuration and a start and main winding for the low speed four pole type of configuration. When the compressor is running below its max. power, the energy loss and the running costs at the cooling system are reduced.
