PURPOSE: To accurately sever labels from a label roll and supply them in a metal mold by exerting tension on a web of labels to successively cut them off, arraying them on a conveyer with intervals corresponding to separation of metal molds, and then transferring them to predetermined positions in the mold. CONSTITUTION: A web W of labels passes through a driving pinch roller 36 and engages with an endless vacuum conveyer 37. A tension is exerted on the web W between the driving roller 36 and the conveyor 37. In this state, labels are cut off with a knife member 38. The conveyor 37 moves as the whole, after having transferred labels to the middle portion, to the vicinity of an endless vacuum transfer conveyor 39 that horizontally extends. The conveyor 39 conducts horizontal indexing motion in relation to the conveyor 37. Labels are cut off in succession to form array of them on the conveyor 39. The number of labels corresponds to the number of cavities on metal mold pieces 20 of a blowing mold. A label applier 24 functions after that to remove labels from the conveyor 39 and attaches to the corresponding cavities of the metal mold pieces 20. The endless conveyer 37 is intermittently driven by a stepping motor M and the like. |
