PURPOSE:To provide a photosensitive body which has excellent resolving power and cleanability, has a large allowance for toner concn. and permits formation of a copy free from a photographic fog with a photosensitive body for electrophotography which has a protective layer dispersed with pulverous metallic oxide layer in a binder resin as a surface layer by using the pulverous metallic oxide powder having a specific grain size. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer is formed on a photosensitive layer by coating a soln. dispersed with pulverous metallic oxide powder in a binder resin on said layer or forming the soln. into a film shape and adhering the film thereon. The protective layer is so formed that the metallic oxide particles having <=0.3mum average grain size are dispersed in the binder resin and that particle flocs of >=2mum size do not substantially exist therein in the dispersed state. Such intermediate layer has high transparency and is outstanding in terms of surface smoothness as well. A photosensitive body having such protective layer has consequently excellent resolving power and cleanability and a large allowance for toner conc. Since the decrease in photosensitivity is less than that of the photosensitive body having no protective layer, the deterioration in image quality such as a photographic fog is obviated. Since the photosensitive layer has the protective layer having high transparency, the protective film can be formed to a relatively large film thickness. The photosensitive body which has high mechanical strength and is free from external influence of temp., humidity, etc. is thus obtd. |
