The invention relates to a process and a device for the surface pretreatment of workpieces by means of low-pressure plasma, in which the low-pressure plasma is produced continuously by means of at least one or more microwave generators, and the workpieces are continuously exposed to the low-pressure plasma by means of a continuous through-pass plant. The through-pass plant has an inlet sluice, a reactor having at least one or more microwave generators, an outlet sluice, associated vacuum pumps and a transport device. The workpieces are made exclusively of plastic.
