PURPOSE:To improve the speed change responsiveness by increasing the line pressure when the target gear ratio based on the determined speed change stage and the gear ratio of a speed change gear mechanism calculated from the signals of input/output rotation sensors coincide. CONSTITUTION:A speed change gear mechanism selectively operates various friction elements with the line pressure to perform a speed change to the preset speed change stage determined by a speed change stage determining means. At the time of this speed change, a line pressure control means sets the line pressure at a rather low level at the speed change initial stage, it judges that a speed change is completed when the target gear ratio of the determined speed change state and the gear ratio of the speed change gear mechanism calculated by a gear ratio calculating means from the signals of input/output rotation sensors coincide, the line pressure is increased by a line pressure adjusting means is increased. The line pressure after a speed change is completed is properly controlled, the speed change responsiveness can be improved without causing the slip of a clutch and the breakage of an automatic transmission. |
