The operation of roadway conveyors (1) for conveying coal in mines is often unsatisfactory today because the transfer conditions between the drive or transfer station (26) of the face conveyor (32) and the roadway conveyor (1) are disturbed by horizontal displacement of the face conveyor (32) following the advance on the one hand and by heaving of the roadway floor (60) and associated vertical displacement of the roadway conveyor (1) on the other hand. In addition, the known technical solutions for shifting the drive station (26) or an accompanying fine-coal conveyor (36) are inadequate on account of impairment by excavated material and/or awkward operation. According to the invention, therefore, guide rails (6) are proposed for the roadway conveyor (1). Via sliding pieces (10) or sliding claws (29), the guide rails (6) permit the use of a novel shifting device (35) as well as links (28) for the shifting or parallel guidance, for example, of the drive station (26) of the face conveyor (32). At the same time, a novel clearing device (45) for clearing the roadway floor (60) under the roadway conveyor (1) is presented.
