PURPOSE:To rapidly desilverize the subject material, and to remarkably improve the stability of a fixing agent and the fixing ability of a fixing solution at the same time by specifying a bleaching agent contg. in a bath having bleaching ability, and the amount of a nonmetallic cation contg. in the bath having fixing ability, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In the case that the photosensitive material is processed with the bath having the bleaching ability after the material is subjected to a color development, and then the obtd. material is processed with the bath having the fixing ability, the bleaching agent contg. in the bath having the bleaching ability contains at least one of the ferric complex salt of aminopolycarboxylic acid shown by formula I, and 90mol% or more of the nonmetallic cation contd. in the bath having the fixing ability is composed of an ammonium ion. The additional amount of the ferric complex salt of aminopolycarboxylic acid is 0.05-1mol per 1l of the bleaching solution. When the content of the ammonium ion as the nonmetallic cation contg. in the bath having the fixing ability is <=90mol%, the effect of the fixing ability is not sufficiently displayed. Thus, the photosensitive material is rapidly desilverized, and the stability of a fixing solution is improved, and fixing ability of the fixing solution is remarkably improved. |
