The directional force tool consists of a flexible chamber contacting a rigid rod and diametrically opposed punches clamping onto the chamber centre from outside via vee chaped inserts. The rod (8) should run between the chambers (1) such that these are symmetrical to the rod axis (9) and the rod is bevelled (19) where it adjoins the inserts (18,14) and uses surface (20) as chamber contact. The punches (10) are diametrically opposed to the interface (20). In a variant the tool has two chambers and composite rectangular section rod in end collars with the rod long side at right angles to the plane through the chamber axes. The rod is straddled by elements connected to it by springs and designed with the bevel surfaces forming the rod insert interface.
|
