<p>Antiinflammatory carbinoloimidazoles are provided which have the formula: <CHEM> or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R<1> and R<2> independently are H, F, Cl, Br, CH3, CF3 or S(O)nR<3> where n is 0, 1 or 2 and R<3> is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; R<4> is H or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms with the proviso that R<4> is H when m is 2 or 3; and m is 1 to 3. The carbinoloimidazoles are preferably administered as topical antiinflammatory compositions.</p> |
