PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body which has high sensitivity and small residual potential and does not change these characteristics even after repetitive use by providing a photosensitive layer contg. a specific asymetrical squarylium compd. to said body. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body has the photosensitive layer contg. the asymetrical squarylium compd. expressed by formula I on a conductive base. In formula I, Ar1, Ar2 are different from each other and one is selected from formula II and the other from formulas III-IV. In formulas II-V, R1-R3 denote a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, etc.; R4-R7 denote a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, etc.; Ar3 denotes an aryl group; R10, R11, R13 denote an alkyl group, phenyl group, etc.; R12, R14, R16 denote a hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, etc.; R15, R17, R18 denote a hydrogen atom, alkoxy group, etc. The electrophotographic sensitive body which is excellent in the electrophotographic characteristics such as sensitivity and residual potential and has the less fatigue deterioration after the repetitive use is obtd. in this way. |
