PURPOSE:To sense failure of a kickdown switch system by generating kickdown only in case the condition signal of a kickdown switch is on and, at this time, the read value of throttle opening exceeds a certain level. CONSTITUTION:Judgement of kickdown is not judged from a condition signal from only a kickdown switch 3,but made by reference to the condition of throttle opening signal given by a throttle sensor 1 etc. indicating the throttle opening condition and the condition of the kickdown switch 3. That is, an electronic control device 10 reads the current degree of throttle opening in case an on signal for kickdown switch 3 is fed, followed by generation of kicking-down upon judgement about normal kickdown only when the reading exceeds for ex. 90%. Thus a failure in the kickdown switch 3 system is sensed certainly to ensure performance of fail-safe control. |
