PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of air gaps, dust from a recording part, and the like, to facilitate an industrial mass-production, and to improve a reliability by conducting a recording by using a simple system produced by adding a light absorber in a high molecular material as a recording layer and by a synergetic effect of an electric field and a light. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording medium, a lower electrode 2 is laminated under a recording layer 1 consisting of a high molecular material with the addition of a light absorber, and an upper electrode is laminated thereon. The optical recording medium is supported by a substrate 4. At the time of recording, an arbitrary part is irradiated with a light beam to be heated in the condition of applying an electric field to the recording layer 1, whereby only the light absorber existing in the light irradiated part is selectively caused to react to discolor and, thus, the appropriate part is made writable. This recording medium can conduct a recording regeneration, thus having no possibility of being accompanied by a change in shape, a hole generation, and the like in the recording layer. |
