摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent misstudy and secure shift shock reducing effect in the shift pattern non-changed condition, which is vital, by prohibiting updating of the line pressure correction amount due to study control when speed change is made in shift pattern changing condition. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic transmission according to existing invention, a shift position is selected by hydraulically operating a friction element selectively with line pressure, and shifting into another position is performed. At this shifting, a line pressure study control means makes study control of line pressure so that the speed changing time becomes the target value, and the engagement capacity of friction element operated by current speed change line pressure is controlled so as to reduce shift shock. In case the shifting is in the shift pattern changing condition, a line pressure correcting amount holding means prohibits updating of the line pressure correction amount to be made by the line pressure study control means with a signal from a different pattern shift sensing means, which is to sense the first named condition of this sentence. Thus misstudy is prevented, and shift shock reducing effect at the time of shift pattern out of alteration is secured, and premature wear of the friction element can be avoided.
