摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent the idle run of a friction roller on a wheel tread and to shorten a machining time for a wheel shaft by providing a device for identifying slip caused between the friction roller and a wheel tread to control the feed speed of a cutting tool rest. CONSTITUTION: Cutting tool rests 30, 31 including vertical feeders 32, 33 and lateral feeders 34, 35 are driven by motors 36, 37, 38, 39 and tools 40, 41 are controlled to an arrow 42 of a vertically feeding direction and to an arrow 43 of a laterally feeding direction. A detector 55 for measuring the circumferential speed of a friction roller 20 and a detector 56 for measuring the circumferential speed of a wheel tread 17 are connected to a machine control 52 via an evaluation station 57. Since extremely small frictional force takes place during idle run, the circumferential speeds of friction wheels 18, 19, 20, 21 are almost equal to those of wheel treads 16, 17 and during machining a wheel shaft 5, slip is identified by the evaluation station 57 and feed speed is reduced/increased via the machine control 52.
