PURPOSE:To ensure light braking operation by braking one system of wheels through a master cylinder and braking the other system of wheels through an auxiliary cylinder operated according to the output liquid pressure of a hydraulic booster. CONSTITUTION:According to the operation of a brake pedal 2, a hydraulic booster 20 inputs output power hydraulic pressure of a hydraulic source 40 to apply corresponding hydraulic pressure to wheel cylinders 53a, 54a of wheels 53, 54 through an auxiliary cylinder 80, and boosts the master cylinder 10 to be driven, whereby the output hydraulic pressure of which is applied to wheel cylinders 51a, 52a of wheels 51, 52. Accordingly, the stroke of the brake pedal 2 can be shortened. In this arrangement, even if there is leakage in the wheel cylinders 53a, 54a connected to the auxiliary cylinder 8 or its hydraulic pressure path, they are separated in respect of fluid by a piston 82, so that power hydraulic pressure will not flow out. Thus, the braking operation can be conducted so as to ensure satisfactory braking force. |
