PURPOSE:To effectively eliminate the irregularities in scanning speed at the rising when a recording head starts scanning with a simple construction by supporting a recording head air-cooling blower slidably to a carriage within a predetermined distance therefrom. CONSTITUTION:One end of a mount 4 to which a recording head air-cooling blower 3 is fixed is held by the combination of a shaft 4a and a bearing 7a. On the lower part of the mount 4, a sliding member 8 made of a resin, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, is provided to enable the mount 4 to move smooth on a carriage 7. Between the shaft 4a and the bearing 7a, a play (clearance, a) is provided in the scanning direction of the carriage 7. For example, in an initial stage when the carriage 7 starts traveling in a direction of arrow 1, the mount 4 remains by an inertia action and shifts to the carriage 7 in a reverse direction (a direction of an arrow 2), lastly being positioned stably. This movement of the mount 4 when the carriage 7 starts scanning acts to improve the scanning speed irregularities of the carriage 7. |
