PURPOSE:To deal with two kinds of systems by means of one kind of systems by providing an auxiliary magnetic head having an inverse azimuth in the vicinity of the magnetic head of one side among magnetic heads having the same azimuth. CONSTITUTION:An angle made by a magnetic head Hc and an auxiliary magnetic head He with a center O of a rotary head device 10 is a micro angle theta, the rotating direction of the rotary head device 10 is made into a counterclockwise direction, and a timing, by which the magnetic head He is scanned to the track of a magnetic tape 2, is slightly delayed by the degree of the micro angle theta from the magnetic head Hc. In order to offset the delay, a fitting position in a shaft direction to the rotary head device 10 of the magnetic head He is dislocated downward from the magnetic head Hc, and the auxiliary magnetic head He can surely scan the same track as the magnetic head Hc. Thus, respective kinds of formats can be shared with the same device. |
