<p>PURPOSE: To enable a container to be securely sealed, a tape to be removed, and contents to be indicated by providing a tamper indicating tape containing a specified light transmissive mono layer film having a first and a second main surfaces. CONSTITUTION: A tamper indicating tape 10 includes a light transmissive film 12. Film 12 is derived from a composition comprising 50 to 85 part by weight of a first copolymer comprising one moiety derived from one olefinic monomeric unit and 50 to 15 parts by weight of a second copolymer comprising one moiety derived from one vinyl alcohol monomeric unit. First colored indicia 22 are printed on first major surface 18 and second colored indicia 24 are printed on the second major surface 20 of the film 12. After tape 10 has been secured to container parts 26 and 28, internal delamination of film 12 is caused at a predetermined level of peel force and the separated portions become opaque. The second indicia 24 are no longer obscure on the background of the first layer of adhesive, but are now readily perceptible against the white opaque background of the separated film portions. This provides an unambiguous indication of the contents.</p> |
