PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating oil to be used in wire drawing for Ti, Nb, Ta or alloys therefrom through a die and ensuring seizuring to be prevented, by admixing a vehicle with graphite powder. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricating oil normally ca. 300-4,000cps in viscosity, can be obtained by admixing (A) ca. 1-10wt.% of graphite powder pref. 0.05-3mum in mean particle diameter with (B) a vehicle comprising mineral oil, fatty oil such as animal or vegetable oil, or solution prepared by dissolving in an organic solvent or water a cellulose derivative such as nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate or butyrate, or acrylic, styrene- or vinyl acetate-based synthetic resin, or protein resin such as glue or gelatin. |
