PURPOSE:To detect a power interruption of a trolley wire early by outputting a stop command signal if the variation value of an AC current on the primary side of a transformer is negative and its absolute value is larger than a reference value. CONSTITUTION:After an AC current at the primary side of a transformer 22 detected by a current transformer 6 is rectified by a rectifier 7, it is smoothed by a smoothing circuit 8. After the output of the smoothing circuit 8 is differentiated by a differentiator 9, it is compared by a comparator 11 with a reference value of a current change reference setter 10. If the variation of the current is negative and its absolute value is larger than a reference value, a power interruption detection signal is output from the comparator 11. A stop command signal is output from an AND circuit 12 on the basis of the detection signal and an operation command. If the AC voltage at the primary side of the transformer 22 is lower than the reference value, the detection signal is output from a comparator 5.
