<p>A low-output flow regulator comprises a housing (2,16) having an inlet aperture (10) through which a liquid from a liquid source may enter, the housing also having a raised portion (18) with a recessed top surface (20) provided with an opening (26) leading at least indirectly to the consumer, the raised portion having a circumferential wall surface (28) projecting into the housing. The regulator further comprises a cup-shaped elastomeric diaphragm (34) consisting of a relatively thin and, in its position of rest, substantially plane active portion (36), and an annular wall portion (38) integral with the active portion. The diaphragm (34) is mounted on the raised portion (18), thereby dividing the housing into an inlet chamber (39) and an outlet chamber (41), and the inside surface of the annular wall portion (38) defines in conjunction with the circumferential wall surface (28) of the raised portion a flow- attenuating passageway (44) for the liquid, the passageway connecting the inlet chamber (39) with the outlet chamber (41).</p> |
