The display element comprises, on the one hand, a winding support 10 formed by a rod 11, around which is wound an electrical conductor 14 and which is integral, at one of its ends, with a plinth 12 having the same axis, this rod 11 and this plinth 12 being hollow in their centre along the axis of the winding support 10 and a metal bar 13 being arranged in this support along this axis and, on the other hand, a pellet 1 which is curved outwards on both its faces and comprising a permanent magnet with the same axis as the winding support 10. This element also comprises means for carrying and rotating this pellet 1, which is equipped with two diametrically opposed pivots and situated in an equatorial plane which is substantially perpendicular to the permanent magnet. Application to the production of alphanumeric display panels which include display elements with armatures. <IMAGE>
