<p>PURPOSE:To lessen a false operation or an error in an operation and to prevent the occurrence of a sudden, unexpected action or non-action of an air bag by specifying constituents of a material of a cylinder formed of a non-magnetic substance and holding a spherical body formed of a magnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:Austenitic steel which contains 1.0% or less of C, 3.0% or less of Si and 15 to 40% of Mn in a weight %, for instance, and further 0.4% or less of N as occasion calls and comprises Fe and inevitable impurity elements as the remainder is used as a material of a cylinder 2 constructing a shock sensor 1. By this constitution, the material is made to have necessary strength, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance and also a characteristic that a thermal expansion coefficient is small, and thus the thermal expansion coefficient of said material is in substantial accord with that of the material of a spherical body 3 constituted of magnetic steel. A clearance between the cylinder 2 and the spherical body 3 becomes constant at all times irrespective of a change in atmospheric temperature, accordingly, and therefore the sensor 1 constructed of this cylinder 2 shows a prescribed stable detecting sensitivity irrespective of an ambient temperature.</p> |
