PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of defective copies and the failure of a device by comparing a current flowing in tungsten lamps with a prescribed value during a copying action before it starts and detecting abnormality. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 14 which centralizingly controls each part of a copying machine, gives instructions of exposure before electrification and detects the failure of the exposing device, and a driving IC 15 driving the tungsten lamps 17a and 17b according to the instructions given from the terminal 14a of the CPU 14 are provided. An abnormality detecting means 14 compares the current flowing in light emitting means 17a and 17b which is detected by a detecting means, with a prescribed value, and detects the abnormality of the light emitting means 17a and 17b, or that of a light emitting and driving means 15. Thus, the occurrence of defective copies and the failure of each part can be prevented. |
