PURPOSE:To always hold a printing head to the optimum contact state with an ink sheet by detecting the supply quantity of a current between each recording electrode element and the ink sheet to adjust the contact state of the ink sheet and the printing head on the basis of the detected value. CONSTITUTION:In a printing head moving control apparatus, for example, the contact angle of a recording electrode element 2a to an ink sheet 1 is controlled by rotating a cam 11 or a thermal printing head 2 is moved parallelly or moved obliquely and rotationally in a sub-scanning direction by the rotation of said cam 11. The quantity of the current supplied from each recording electrode element 2a of a thermal printing head part 2 to the ink sheet 1 is detected by an ammeter and the contact state of the thermal printing head part 2 is grasped. This detection operation is performed while the contact angle and contact position of the thermal printing head part 2 with respect to the ink sheet 1 are changed little by little using the printing head moving control apparatus and the contact angle and position of the thermal printing head part 2 to the ink sheet 1 are adjusted to the optimum state on the basis of the detection value due to the ammeter. |
