摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure excellent falsification resistance, fretting resistance and durability and maintain satisfactorily other kinds of printing quality by providing an intermediate layer having a specified cohesive force, between a release layer and an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material comprises an intermediate ink layer having a cohesive force of 4-60g/cm between a release ink layer and an adhesive ink layer. The cohesive force and adhesive force of each of the layers after thermal transfer are usually varied. When the cohesive forces f2, f4 and f6 of the release layer, intermediate layer and adhesive layer, the adhesive forces f3 and f5 between the release layer and the intermediate layer and between the intermediate layer and the adhesive layer, and the adhesive force f7 of the adhesive force to a transfer image-receiving material are so set that the forces f2 to f7 satisfy the relationship f7, f6, f5 > f2 and the relationship f7, f6, f5 > f4 and that the forces f7 and f6 are sufficiently high, in consideration of only falsification resistance, fretting resistance or the like of the ink layer transferred, an attempt to, for example, strip the ink layer by a pressure sensitive adhesive tape or an operation of rubbing the ink layer with an eraser would only cause cohesive failure of the release layer 12 or the intermediate layer 13, leaving the adhesive layer 14 as a sufficiently dense ink layer on the transfer image-receiving material 15.
