PURPOSE:To realize a thermal transfer material which is inexpensive and can be reused by using a specified porous base film. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material comprises an ink supported in the state of being infiltrated in a surface layer of a porous base film having a nitrogen permeability constant of at least 10<-4>ml.cm/sec.cm<2>.cmHg and a porosity of at least 55%. Any film which satisfies the above conditions can be used as the base film, regardless of the material, thickness or the like thereof. As regards material, however, a polyolefin film, e.g. a polyethylene film or a polypropylene film, a polyester film, e.g. a polyethylene terephthalate film or a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate film, a polyamide film, e.g. a nylon film, a polyimide film or the like is preferable for use as the base film. The thickness is ordinarily 1.0-30mum, preferably 1.0-15mum. |
