In handsets, there is the problem that their acoustic properties are determined by the prevolume in front of the microphone capsule and earpiece. The prevolume required is dependent on the type of transducer system of the capsules. In the handset, a bearing ring (27) which in each case defines a prevolume is attached to the front of the microphone capsule or earpiece (6) via which the microphone capsule or earpiece (6) is supported on a bearing surface (8) of the housing, which surface has sound bores (9); in this way, the prevolume is determined by the microphone capsule and earpiece (6) themselves so that it can be adapted to the respective transducer system of the microphone capsule or earpiece independently of the handset housings.
