Oil cooler

An oil cooler has a housing through which water is conducted, and in the housing a tube stack made from disc-shaped flat tubes through the interior of which the oil to be cooled is conducted via oil ducts connected thereto. On its axial extent, each oil duct has guide elements which are shaped and directed in such a way that the incoming oil is fed at least partially firstly to the end region, adjacent to the oil duct, of the flat tubes and is led from there at right angles through the interior of the flat tubes, or the oil flowing out of the flat tubes is fed before it passes into the draining oil duct at least partially firstly to the end region, adjacent to the lastmentioned oil duct in the transverse direction, of the flat tubes and is introduced from there into the draining oil duct. The result of this is a pinpointed distribution of flow of the oil accompanied by uniform loading of the entire heat exchange surface and thus an improved cooling effect.
