PURPOSE:To prevent any knocking at the time of acceleration or the like from occurring by performing only learning for controlling ignition timing to the timing delay side at out of a specified running area where a variation in compensated timing delay value is not stabilized. CONSTITUTION:In a controller, there is provided with a learning means D which increases or decreases and renews a learning value for setting a compensated timing delay value to a value within the specified range according to magnitude of the compensated timing delay value in a specified running area, while performs only a renewal of ignition timing to the timing delayed side according to magnitude of the compensated timing delay value at out of the specified running area. With this constitution, since the learning value is renewable so as not to cause any knocking without entailing any danger such as preignition or the like, the occurrence of knocking at the time of acceleration or the like from a light load running area is thus preventable. |
