PURPOSE:To improve traceability and to suppress a stick-slip phenomenon by forming the width of a magnetic core on a first sliding plane having the magnetic core of a magnetic head in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction less than that of a second sliding plane at the opposite side of a groove in a center part. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head is provided with a pressure point in the center of the groove formed by being sandwiched between the first and second sliding planes brought into contact with a medium 6, and also, provided with the magnetic cores 3a and 3b on the first sliding plane. Here, the area of the first sliding plane is formed less than that of the second sliding plane. Therefore, it is possible to stabilize the contact state of the magnetic recording medium 6 with the magnetic head in a satisfactory state. In such a way, the traceability can be improved even when the stick-slip phenomenon due to the shaking of the plane of the magnetic recording medium or the height of bearing is generated, and stick-slip can be suppressed. |
