In a measuring device for the contactless determination of the angle of rotation and/or travel, two identical coils (22, 23) are arranged on a support (21) in mirror-symmetrical array. The value of the eddy currents generated in the two coils (22, 23) is changed with the aid of a disc (24) connected to a component whose rotary movement is to be measured. The support (21) is arranged obliquely to the disc (24) at an angle ( alpha ). Thus the point with the greatest measurement precision is shifted to the desired position within the range of measurement.
