PURPOSE:To reduce a transmission shock and to improve the efficiency by detecting the turbine torque of an automatic transmission with a torque sensor, delivering a signal to an electromagnetic valve for controlling the main pressure, and operating the valve so as to obtain the main pressure. CONSTITUTION:A torque sensor 6 to detect the turbine torque is set to connect to the output of a torque converter 2, and a main pressure setting device 4 to receive a signal from the torque sensor 6 is provided. In the main pressure setting device 4, the main pressure is determined from the delivered data, a signal is delivered to a main pressure control device 5 connected to an automatic transmission 3, and a main pressure responding to the turbine torque is generated. When an electromagnetic valve 31 of the main pressure control device 5 is turned on, an exhaust oil passage 40 is opened, thereby the control pressure is drained, and the control pressure is not applied to a pressure regulation valve 32. As a result, the pressure regulation valve 32 is lifted by the oil pressure applied to the lower side of the pressure regulation valve 32 through an orifice 35, a part of the oil from an oil pump 34 is drained, and thereby, the main pressure is controlled. |
