The invention relates to a purpose-made concrete block as masonry block for a dry construction method, having any outline or a rectangular outline as parallelepipedal block, the casing surface of which has vertical grooves in some sections. The core of the invention consists in the fact that the purpose-made concrete block has one or more cavities over the entire height of the block and, matching these cavities, one or more elevations project over the surface of the purpose-made concrete block and/or that, seen in outline, in the case of an imaginary rectangle, each of the two long sides is replaced by two concave portions and the two narrow sides are replaced by a convex portion in each case, one of the two convex portions being, in turn, replaced centrally, but not over the entire length of the portion, by a concave portion. The basic advantage consists in the fact that, by using the purpose-made concrete block, an angled and curved dry masonry wall can be erected, which is interconnected horizontally and vertically. <IMAGE>
