A breech for a shooting weapon, especially for single-shot match weapons, having a loading flap, a breech plate on breech latches which engage behind the barrel root being positively locked in the closed position by means of corresponding projections on the loading flap, and being positively opened during opening. The trigger box is connected to the breech slide. A lateral lifting lever ensures the firing readiness position during opening. <IMAGE>
