N-(phenoxy-phenoxyethyl)carbamate esters of formula (I) are new: R1=1-4C alkyl; R2=1-4C alkyl, or when X=1-12C alkyl, also 1-12C alkyl; R3=H, Me or Et; R4 and R5=H or halo, pref. Cl, Br or F; n=0, 1 or 2; X=1-12C alkyl or a gp. (II). 6 Cpds. e.g. of formula (i) are prefd. where Ar=phenyl and m=0 or 1; Ar=3,5-dichlorophenyl and m=zero.
