PURPOSE:To extend the life of a battery of a wrist watch eliminating waste power consumption by arranging an electronic type display section and a solar cell for performing a power supply only to the display section to omit a time display as useless when the time is not required. CONSTITUTION:Receiving a power supply from a body power source 2, a body section 1 always performs a time counting accurately so that it is made ready for the memory of an alarm time, the generation of an alarm sound and the like at any time. In other words, it is prepared to operate as timepiece whether the display of time is performed or not. Now when a sufficient light is applied to a solar cell 4, power is supplied to a time display section 3 from the solar cell 4 to display time counted by the body section 1. On the contrary, when the solar cell 4 is not exposed to sufficient light, for example, at night, the power supply from the solar cell 4 is cut off and the display of time ceases at the display section 4. |
