PURPOSE:To rapidly and certainly point printing data at a proper printing position by reading recording paper before printing by a scanner and performing the overlay display thereof on a CRT to detect the positions of the outer shape of the recording paper, a printed frame line, a letter head or the like on the recording paper and determining the printing position of a printer on the recording paper, a font size, balance or the like by a host computer to perform printing. CONSTITUTION:The printing surface of recording paper 3 is scanned by a scanner 2 to read scanner data SD which is, in turn, processed by a host computer 1 and, for example, an envelope 8 is displayed on a CRT 4 and an outer frama showing an outer shape or the overlap part thereof is simultaneously displayed by a fine line 9. An operator inputs a signal to the host computer 1 so as to perform printing at a printing proper position 6 shifted from the fine line 9 to perform lay-out and print-out. The image confirmed on the CRT by the operator is sharply printed on the outputted recording paper at an accurate position. |
